TANNAT

Bodega Cerro Chapeu in northern Uruguay, near the Brazilian border, was founded in 1975 by the Carreau family. The winery is characterized by a unique structure built into a hill, which allows winemaking using a natural method without pumps. The vineyards extend over 35 hectares of red sand soils rich in iron, and grow varieties such as Tenat, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The winery is particularly known for its Tenat wines and offers guided tours and tastings.
